Altisense Targets Perform Well Even in Challenging Field Conditions in Kenya
"The Regenerative Agricultural Systems for Climate Resilience in Agroecological Gradient in East Africa (REACT)” research project used Altisense reflectance targets in their UAV Campaign to great success.
Janne Heiskanen and Ashfak Mahmud from the REACT research team wrote to us about their team's experience with our products:
We ordered the Complete Field Work Set of Altisense Reflectance Targets (5 panels) to support the radiometric calibration of UAV-based hyperspectral data collected with our HAIP Blackbird v2 sensor. The delivery arrived on time, and the panels were securely packed.
Our UAV campaign took place in May 2025 across two agricultural landscapes
near the Taita Hills, Kenya, as part of the “Regenerative Agricultural Systems for
Climate Resilience in Agroecological Gradient in East Africa (REACT)” project funded by the Research Council of Finland.
The reflectance panels were sturdy, easy to set up,
and performed reliably under challenging field conditions. The carrying bag made
transport easy, and the dust roller was very handy for quick clean-ups between flights, especially since the surface of the panels attract dust easily in dry conditions. Overall, we are very satisfied with the customer service, product’s quality, portability, and usability in tropical field conditions.
